Planning and executing menus in a timely manner
Ensure the Set up and stocking with all necessary supplies is done to standard
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Ensure shopping is done and cleaning after every cooking session of all kitchen area, fridge, deep freezers, microwave, oven and cookers once a week
• Peel, wash, trim, and cook vegetables and meats, and bake breads and pastries.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive, welcoming and professional approach with co-workers and Guests
• Cleans food preparation areas.
• Prepares foods to the specifications of the resident
• Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer
• Estimates expected food consumption and organizes preparation
• Keeps records and accounts of food purchases
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Stays available for quick snacks in case guests arrive unannounced.
• Observe personal and food hygiene
• To ensure all equipment, machinery are stored securely and clean after use.
• Manages other employees in the kitchen
• Orders new menu items for specials treats or functions
• Clean, wash, disinfect and sanitize surfaces as per requirement – cupboards, drawers, wall tiles weekly
• Stock inventory appropriately and proper accounting of all items purchased
• Observe Health and Safety requirements noting that all duties must be carried out to comply with current Health & Safety at Work legislation.
